What is Portfolio Management?

The portfolio management gives the programs and projects a connection to the line organization. It decides on the life cycle of products or services. Changes within these require programs or projects. Portfolio management ensures effective management to meet strategic business objectives to create value addition for stakeholders. However, it is not involved in managing programs or projects.

Knowledge Areas

Knowledge areas cover mainly the same tasks, however, program tasks are superior by giving an overview. HR, Communication and Procurement Management are of greater importance as they conciliate between the projects.
